What is EFT?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) also known as “Tapping” was created by Gary Craig in the early 1990’s. Craig was educated with TFT (Thought Field Therapy) in the 1980’s by Roger Callahan who was the creator of TFT which focused on the Brain/Body connection. Previous studies in psychology and psychiatry and the connection of the mind and body were limited at that time. Craig discovered that applying mild touch or pressure on different Acupressure points on the body while verbalizing a fear, issue or belief would allow the body to release that fear, issue or belief on a physical level.
In the 30 + years since EFT was created, there has been an incredible amount of research studies that has been done on this quick and easy modality of therapy. Using the latest Diagnostic technology including FMRIs and Brain scans, the studies have been overwhelmingly positive acknowledging the effective and long-lasting healing that people have been able to accomplish using EFT.
